The Schloss Charlottenburg today is the largest and most magnificent palace in Berlin, which was built as a summer palace by Sophie Charlotte of Hannover. Queen Sophie Charlotte was the first queen in Prussia. After the death of the educated and artistic queen, the palace and its estate received the name Charlottenburg in her honour.
