Pedro: "Don't leave me alone by the sea"

From the 18th of October until the 30th of November 2018 the MONTH OF PHOTOGRAPHY > OFF BERLIN will take place. As a part of this event, Amanda Martin-Dombroski will exhibit her photography-project titled: Pedro: “No me dejes solo con el mar” (Pedro"Don't leave me alone by the sea").

615 million people from all around the world suffer from mental illnesses, and this number continues to grow every day. Nowadays, about 30% more people have to deal with mental health problems compared to 25 years ago. Sufferers are still being stigmatised. Pedro from Spain suffers from a bipolar disorder. He is a social worker and a student. The diagnosis was a true turning point in his life, but he has never given up. His family has always been important to him and they were always there to support him. Without them, his recovery would have been much harder. His hobbies have also helped him on his way. Now he knows how to take better care for himself and to control extreme mood swings. His last manic or depressive phase took place years ago.

You can take a look at Amanda's work at our Sprachatelier Berlin from the 19th of October till the 2nd of November 2018. The opening hours from Monday till Friday are 1pm–7pm.
