Presenting the Book "Fragole e Uranio - Strawberries and Uranium"

The book by Pasquale Stigliani and Francesco Buccolo is reminiscent of the citizen protest of Lucan against the introduction of a nuclear waste dump in Scanzano Jonico. Both authors are protagonists in this fight, having been involved in it and having given the anger of an entire people a voice. On the journey from Terzo Cavone they see the base of the insurgency, travel to Rome and meet Stigliani and Buccolo and the angry mob. They also discover important values such as solidarity and the importance of protest.

These values were the same values as were present during the Fight of Farmers in the past."Fragole e Uranio" is a complaint which surfaced during the heated discussions about the nuclear waste dump. "Strawberries and Uranium" is a paradox, concerned with the differences between those who view atomic energy as a source of income and those who think alternative forms of energy are essential to saving the planet.
