Culture Wednesday - The Romanisches Café in Berlin in the 1920s

Step back in time to Berlin’s ‘Golden Twenties’ with this free exhibition at Europa-Center. The Romanische Cafe was a cafe-bar located at the end of the Kurfürstendamm in Charlottenburg that was popular amongst writers, artists, journalists, and directors. Its famous patrons included playwright Bertolt Brecht, and painters Otto Dix and George Grosz. Visitors are immersed in the Avant Garde of the Weimar Republic through everyday objects, film clips, text, photos, and even a 3-D-Simulation. The Europa-Center lies on the original site of the Cafe in Charlottenburg, and is now home to a shopping mall and a high-rise tower.

Meeting point: 13:30 in front of Sprachenatelier
