Culture Wednesday - Sony World Photography Awards 2023

This Wednesday we are going to Willy Brandt House to attend the Sony World Photography Awards.

The “Sony World Photography Award” honours photos from the best contemporary photographers. This year's edition received over 300,000 submissions from photographers from 200 countries.

The exhibition in Berlin honours works from the entire spectrum of photography: whether art student, amateur or professional photographer, photos from every perspective and in every style are shown. The title of “Photographer of the Year” goes to the renowned photographer Edgar Martins (Portugal) for his series “Our War,” a tribute to his good friend, the photojournalist Anton Hammerl, who was killed in the Libyan civil war in 2011.
