Culture Wednesday - Christmas Market on Gendarmenmarkt

Can you feel the Christmas spirit in the air? It’s starting to snow, the stalls are being decorated and festive and seasonal treats are being prepared. This Culture Wednesday, we are visiting the Christmas market on Gendarmenmarkt to experience the Christmas magic in person. Every year, the Christmas market attracts around 800,000 eager visitors to this historic setting. An attraction point is the range of art and traditional craftsmanship where wood carvers and tailors display their skills. In the centre of the square the stars on top of the traditional market stalls twinkle along with the large Christmas tree. Due to construction work, from 2022 to 2024, the Christmas market will be held on nearby Bebelplatz. We are excited to experience this festivity with you!
