Culture Wednesday - Havanna Berlin Stories
This exhibition shows and tells stories of people that lived in Berlin and Havana during the political disruption of the 20th and 21th centuries.
It delves into politics, real life experiences and survival, particularly focusing on biographies between fiction and reality. The participating artists reside either in Berlin or Havana, yet their lives are firmly rooted in both cities. The harsh consequences of the political decisions made during that era resulted in immense struggles for the people: precisely what the artists wanted to portray.
Here people can find the reflection of individual realities where fiction is mixed with documentary and creates an artistic look of little-known histories. It presents two special cities and their inhabitants.
