Kulturmittwoch // Special exhibition - "A powerful impetus to action"
Learn German and experience Berlin!
With the special exhibition "A powerful impulse to action", the Museum Pankow wants to honor the 40 years of work of the Peace Library and the Anti-War Museum.
It all started on June 27, 1982, when members of environmental, peace and human rights groups organised a public exhibition in Rummelsburg in East Berlin. This exhibition was subsequently repeated at other locations in Berlin. This led to the creation of a permanent exhibition in 1984 and a library in 1985. Until today, more than 2,600 exhibitions have been held in about 600 locations. The main theme of these exhibitions are the people who stood up for others during the war and who sometimes lost their lives because of it.
