DSH - German Language Test for the University
Exam for University admission
If you want to study at a German university, you need either the DSH language certificate or the TestDaF (see here).
The DSH consists of a written and an oral exam. The written part of the exam covers the areas of listening comprehension, reading comprehension, text production as well as understanding and working on structures in academic language. The examination tasks are designed by the individual universities themselves, but are based on a framework that applies throughout Germany.
The DSH exam can only be taken on-site at a German university. It usually takes place a few weeks before the start of the semester. The DSH is passed if at least two thirds of the requirements have been met in both parts of the examination.
You can get more information about the DSH exam as well as the dates and prices from the international offices of the respective university.
